Google Maps platform is changing on your website

This week Google announced, Google Maps Platform—the next generation of othei Google Maps business—encompassing streamlined API products and new industry solutions to help drive innovation.

The important date is June 11th, current Google map api’s will stop working. If you have a website, this might affect you.  Most websites with a map like on the contact page uses Google to display that map.  By June 11, you will need a new Google api key from their new cloud platform.

Beginning June 11, you’ll need a valid API key and a Google Cloud Platform billing account to access our core products. Once you enable billing, you will gain access to your $200 of free monthly usage to use for our Maps, Routes, and Places products.

We anticipate a number of small business owners don’t know about this change and possibly don’t have a web company managing their site. Which is going to lead a lot of people wondering why the map on their contact page is blank June 12th.
