Job Opening for WordPress Developer and Designer

Northwest Media Collective Inc is a creative web agency in Vancouver, WA currently seeking a part-time web developer. This role will grow to a full-time position after an initial two months trial and training period.

NWMC, founded in 2013, services national and local brands, predominantly on WordPress. Your work in this position includes multi-month projects for these clients organized into sprints, and ticket work on smaller client requests. Front-end development and project management are the top needs for the role. Your Typical Day

  • Working with Project Managers on flow of work and setting of expectations
  • Employing modern development tools such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, WordPress/development/, staging/production environments, version control and backups.
  • Testing, catching mistkaes, then testing again
  • Juggling 6 to 10 projects in various states of completion
  • Assisting Biz Dev in scoping new work

Your Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience and proven track record as Front End Engineer, Web Developer, UI Developer or similar role, demonstrated with a portfolio of work
  • Involvement in the wider developer community, e.g., open source contributions, attending Meetups, etc.
  • Ability to code pixel-perfect layouts
  • WordPress expertise, particularly theme and plugin development (WooCommerce experience is a big plus)
  • Self-starting problem solver
  • Comfortable juggling multiple, competing tasks
  • Knowledge of git for version control
  • Familiarity with work with a web server, particularly cPanel and Terminal/SSH
  • Experience with unit testing and automation

  • Knowledge of design principles and usability for mobile and web-based front end engineering
